Testing Times

Off to the ministry. The joys of special building are often hidden in the detail. I now have a registered bike to be tested, along with a V5 which has the correct engine number, wrong engine capacity, correct colour, wrong frame number. A lengthy letter attached to the offending log book is making its way to Swansea in the hope that things will come good. This should give me time to put right a few minor problems which we let pass at initial re-build. We knew at the time that new swing arm bushes would be needed and I've got a chain c/w sprockets on the way. Extensive reading of the MOT test rules tells us we can get away without the indicators, front mudguard and front brake switch. New fork seals are just keeping the oil in despite some hefty pitting on the stanchions, a new set of gaiters should hide the worst. We really ought to stretch to a new pair of shocks. MORE PASSING !

Is this just a 'training mule' for your onslaught on the Shortrack Championship? And every photo is from the nearside; Hope it is to hide some fiendish reverse cone mega with which to deafen the neighbourhood.....

Nice to see it all shiny on the carefully-raked gravel drive of Diplo Hall. I'd just get on it and drive it anyway. Well, I would, and then get stopped two yards from the gatehouse.

Good luck with the oil on the front forks. I stopped a hundred yards from the MOT Station and carefully wiped off every trace of oil. First thing he did was bounce the front end up and down furiously. 'You need new forks mate'.

Well I'm buggered! never knew that a front mudguard wasn't an MOT requirement...there's nothing like a naked wheel...I shall immediately remove 'em from my steeds. The Honda looks fun.

JD - "Front mudguard (where applicable) must be securely fitted"

if gaters (rubber not ali) are fitted I tink Mr MOT is not at liberty to remove them & you can get away with shot & weeping stanchions - as long as they still bouncy bouncy.
